Forwarding email from one Domain to another
Hi all, We currently have one Exchange 2007 server and one domain. All recipients have one email address, mycompany@abc.com. We have recently added new departments within the company and purchased a number of domains, dept1.com, dept2.com, dept3.com. I would like to know how to be able to make thecurrent email address to forward to the 3 different new domains? Here is what I am trying to accomplish; myemail@abc.com forward email to myemail@dept1.com, myemail@dept2.com, and myemail@dept3.com I would like to make the myemail@dept1.com the primary email instead of the myemail@abc.com Thanks in advance, SKZeke

Hello SK-Tech,From what I understand of your question, it seems like you want a recipient to receive e-mail at several domains. All you have to do is add multiple SMTP domains to exchange (i.e. dept1.com, dept2.com, dept3.com) and when someone sends an email to user@abc.com, userl@dept1.com, etc. they will all land in the same user's inbox. You can set the default SMTP domain to dept1.com so that when the user sends or replies to an email, it will be sent as user@dept1.comhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996314.aspx?ppud=4http://sharepoint.falconits.com/FAQ/E-Mail/How%20to%20Select%20an%20Email%20in%20Multi%20Domain%20Exchange%20Server.pdfCheersMiguel Fra / Falcon ITS Miguel Fra / Falcon ITS Computer and Network Services, Miami, FL http://www.falconits.com

As far as i can understand, you are trying put multiple emails to your users with primary email address being user@dept1.com.Step 1. Add all the domains to accepted domains list.Step2. Point the MX records of all the domains to your FW or any device that you have at the perimeter.Step3 . Stamp all the users with the email addresses that you want http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_23148051.htmlStep4. Change the primary email address of all the user's http://www.petri.co.il/change_primary_email_address_in_exchange_2007.htmIn case you want email addresses based on Departments , apply filters based http://blogs.technet.com/evand/archive/2007/02/13/using-memberof-with-recipientfilter.aspxRaj

In step 2, you need to point the MX records as now you have new domains to the FW or any device from where you have done port forwarding to your exchange server. Might be a FW or a ISA or any Cisco device.Raj
