Free Busy information
Dear All,we have problems on free busy after an upgrade of a Exchange 2007 no SP on Windows 2003 to SP2.Before the upgrade the free busy informations were working, and after the SP2 they work on Outlook Web Access, but are not available on Outlook 2007.We have tried many things including the art. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc817865.aspx (but is it more ralted to an Exchange 2003 environment or related to Outlook 2003 or previus version?), we have also recreate the Exchange web service virtual directory (see http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/5991f3b6-f0cc-432f-82c6-f24da0a42862/) We gave a full access to a resource mailbox to the user we use to test the free busy info, but the issue was not solved. Please, I wait for your suggestions, thank you very much,Enrico

Hi, Firstly, please review following article to understand how Exchange 2007/Outlook 2007 environment retrieve Free/Busy information: What does Exchange 2007 Availability Service do? http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/10/23/429296.aspx At this time, I suggest you check whether the Outlook 2007 client is able to retrieve correct Availability service URL through Autodiscover service: 1). On the problem Outlook client, launch Outlook 2). Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click the Outlook icon in the notification area of the Windows taskbar, also known as the notification area. 3). In the menu that appears, click Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. 4). Enter your E-mail Address and Password (if not logged into the domain) in the respective edit boxes. 5). Choose the desired auto configuration methods with Use Autodiscover, clear other selection. 6). Click Test. Please check whether the Outlook client is able to connect to Autodiscover service to obtain Availability service URL correctly. If the Outlook is not able to connect to Autodiscover service to obtain Availability service URL, please check the log tab for more information Note: The Protocol: Exchange RPC is for internal client. The Protocol: Exchange HTTP is for Outlook Anywhere client. Hi, From the Test result, looks like that you are not be able to contact Availability service URL with receiving 403 Forbidden error. 1. I suggest you compare the EWS Virtual Directory setting with Default Setting. By default, Just Windows Integrated Authentication is enabled. Default settings for Exchange-related virtual directories in Exchange Server 2007 http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/02/01/447989.aspx 2. Please check the IIS log on the CAS server for more detailed information ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb @ microsoft.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
