Getting emails from which the mailbox is not a member
Hi, I am working on an issue, which is: A user is getting emails from a DL, in which he is not a member. The user were previously a member of the group and for some months he is not a member of that group. I have checked everything. Gone through all Nested groups, Checked for any forwarding rules to the user from the DL members and I can't find anything. Kindly help me to trace out the issue.Regards from www.windowsadmin.info | www.blog.windowsadmin.info

Many members in the DL? Checked corrupt rules? Possible to create a new DL with same members and test? Possible to remove each member one at a time and test email? What does the message header say? Any clues where it has come from? Sukh

Hi, The issue has been experienced while sending from multiple senders to the particular DL. Thus, I suspect this issue may related to DL. It's not a Dynamic list too.Regards from www.windowsadmin.info | www.blog.windowsadmin.info

You wont be able to find te corrupt rukes via the EMC, you will have to follow the KB mentioned by Xiu, however, if there are a number of users this may be time consuming. Have you tried to dump the DL members as per KB by Xiu? What if you look in ADSIEdit and check the members status of the DL? Is the user listed there? I suspect it's the same issue if sending via OWA? Sukh

Hi Xiu, The issue still exists. There re no replication issues as it's a matter of a single mailbox. We are using Exchange 2K7 with SP2. Is this because of old files?Regards from www.windowsadmin.info | www.blog.windowsadmin.info

Hi, Sorry for the late response. I just suspect it could be a cache related issue. So I recommend you to use new account to send email to DL again and then check the issue again. Besides, please check if delegation has been set for that user. Xiu
