Has anyone noticed a problem with ghosting when moving objects around in the query designer in Access 2010?  This also happens in the ERD (Relationships Screen).  If so, any idea why or how to eliminate?

Yes.  I've noticed it particularly with join lines between tables.  This usually precedes a "there isn't enough free memory to update the display" error.  I don't know a solution other than to close and re-open Access.

I've never gotten any memory errors, but the circumstance is a little annoying.  Changing from one app window to the next, then back again makes the ghosting disappear.  But that's hardly a solution to the issue.  I don't get this in earlier versions of Access.  In my opinion, 2010 is just a resource pig amongst other things.

are you meeting the minimum hardware requirements for the program?

I also noticed it in A2007 and A2013.

Hey Bruce, if you're getting the memory issue you mentioned, you can increase your virtual memory to avoid this. 1.5 times RAM for minimum and double that for maximum.

Thanks Chris, I'll give that a try.  I haven't gotten the error in a while but I used to get it fairly frequently. I let Windows automatically manage my page file.  If it comes back I'll try setting custom sizes like you describe.
