Global Address book with contacts not in AD??
We have a client who wants to add an addressbook to each users Outlook. This address book would contact a list of names from various other organizations to the users can easily email them and so that it can be managed/maintained from a single user.
Is there a way to do this without adding contacts for each user in AD??
Edit: We are using Exchange 2003 / Outlook 2003/7. Also, if this is not possible, is it possible for me to create the contacts in AD, but not have them show up in the GAL, but in my custom GAL?

You can use a public folder, but there is no way to create address list items (GAL or otherwise) without adding objects to AD.

Import the contacts into each user's Outlook. I think you'll find the
AD Contacts to be a whole lot easier to manage, though.
