Going back to direct booking for Exchange 2007 resource mailboxes
Hi Folks, We don't like the Exchange 2007 auto accept paradigm for resource mailboxes and would prefer to go back to direct booking. Primarily, this is because direct booking instantly gives the user a popup alert that the resource was successfully booked (or declined) instead of sending an email later on. I've had quite a few complaints about this. I have been searching for a procedure to do this without success. This link: http://msexchangeanswers.blogspot.com/2009/08/outlook-direct-booking-vs-auto-accept_17.html seems to suggest that the method would be to set the mailbox to 'autoupdate' rather than 'autoaccept' using set-mailboxcalendarsettings -automateprocessing autoupdate, then open the mailbox in Outlook and use the Resource Scheduling button in Calendar options to turn on auto accept for meetings. The trouble with this is that the Resource Scheduling button is not active when run against a 2007 mailbox. If I click it, I get a 'This folder cannot be opened because there is a configuration problem on the server' error message. Does anyone else have any suggestions for how to revert our resource mailboxes back to direct booking so we can get the popups back? Thanks for any help, Ian

Hi Ian, Per my knonw, set automateprocessing as autoupdate, that means the Calendar Attendant will process meeting requests and responses; and set it as autoaccept, that means resource booking will be enabled on the mailbox. And I also set it as autoaccept and make a test, the decline email would be accepted by the orgnizar immediately. And it seems there is no way to revert the recource mailbox back to the old type.
