Hi, Let's say I have two forests A and B with the respective domains A.com and B.com. There's a tree-root trust relationship between A and B. Both forest have their own Exchange servers. Now I have a user in the A forest with a @A.com email address. He's moving temporarily to the branch office using forest B. The main point is that he will now also need a @B.com email address and he will use both email address for different purposes. What's the best way to handle this situation ? Do I completely recreate both an AD and Exchange account in B and he will at the same time continue using its @A.com address somehow (OWA ?) ? Do I take advantage of the trust relationship and make him use its A AD and Exchange account and setup some kind of email alias from its @B.com address to its @A.com address ? Something else entirely ? I forgot to add that all servers are Windows Server 2003 (and Exchange 2003).

One option is create a mail-enabled user in forest B with @b.com address (note no mailbox, just mail-enabled acct) and then forward all mail from mail -enabled acct to forest A.

Usually, creating a mail enabled user is for onsite contract employees who require access to the network but who want to continue receiving their e-mail through their Internet service provider. Hi Sophia, I've already stumbled upon this link while doing research. The trick is that it's not really a contract employee, it's an employee from another business unit. Hence the tree-root relationship between the forest. For the record, we've setup a domain account with a mailbox in our forest and we've asked the other forest's admin for the user in our domain to have access to its original mailbox. Thank you all.
