Having to authenticate twice for OWA
Hello all After a recent update to our new exchange 2007 server whenever users try accesing our webmail link (https://mail.*********.com/owa), they get prompted for basic authentication prior to the normal owa login screen. I've tried removing the basic authentication setting from the owa site within IIS and just leaving the windows authentication on the active site within owa however that will not let anyone authenticate. It seems i have to have the basic authentication set at some point (users have to enter their credentials, then enter them again at the normal login screen) for people to access their mail, obviously this isn't ideal so if anyone could give me an idea on how to resolve this that would be great as my IIS skills are a tad limited! Thanks in advance Matt Smith

Ok, you should really only have basic auth set for the OWA directory using Forms Based Authenticaiton. You want to set Forms Based Auth using the Exchange Tools as well. Here is more info:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998867.aspxHow to Configure Forms-Based Authentication for Outlook Web AccessAlso, note after any changes you want to restart IIS.Verify your auth settings and run ExBpa agains the server as well.

I had the same problem did the following and now it just logs in once. Exchange Management Console > Server Config > Client Access > OWA > Properties > Authentication Under Forms-based Auth, select Username only, add in your domain... press ok out and viola...
