Help! How do I reinstall Exchange Server 2013?

Ok eversince I installed Exchange Server 2013 CU1, when I try to turn on the server, the machine doesn't work until I log on, then it just locks up, for like 5 minutes before it actually works, then everything works perfectly but in the event viewer there are a TON of errors dealing with exchange so I want to restore it back to before I had CU1 installed on it, but can't think of ANY way of doing this, other than creating another exchange server and migrating the mailboxes to it and then recreating the old exchange server because I don't want to change the name of the exchange server, I just want to reinstall it.

How do I do this?

Did you see if CU1 us "removable?"

Go to Windows shell, do:

appwiz.cpl

That will take you to 'add / remove programs' - make sure you turn on "View Installed Updates" and see if CU1 is removable. In a similar case, I was able to remove a specific cumulative update (likely a different one from your case), and it reverted everything back to "before" the cumulative update. On the CU1 page, it should say whether or not it is "removable."

Please remember to Mark as Answer, if I helped resolve your issue. Thanks!

Hi,

When you uninstall the Exchange 2013 CU1, I recommend you to verify the following things:

1. Make sure all the console related to Exchange server are closed.

2. Disable the mailbox on Exchange Server.

What's more, here are some similar threads for your reference.

Hi.

For some odd reason it stopped doing this, and I don't know why. Maybe some timing issues were fixed automatically, I don't know. Possibly since I was using Hyper-V and upgraded the host to Server 2012 R2, it fixed the problem for some odd reason.

Thank you for your response.

Cumulative Update 2 for Exchange Server 2013 (KB2859928)  is already available long time ago, why did you choose to go to CU1 ?

Its recommended to upgrade to CU2.
