Hi There,I experienced an odd behavior (for me) of Exchange 2003 recently,can youhelp describe why Imay have had this happen?A sharepoint services server was able to send mail to internal users with a domain name of(IE) "can.ca".But, when the sharepoint services server tried to send mail to internal users with a domain name ending in "ace.ca" the message would not get delivered.Both of these domain names are valid, mailboxes exist & have been initialized / sent mail to. Sending mail to / from these domains using Outlook or external users have not had any issues in the past.When I tried to telnet (on p:25) to exchange, and specified a RCPT TO: blah@ace.ca the system would give an error similar to 'not able to relay to this recipient'.From here, I went into the Exchange management tool to add a relay (of the Sharepoint server IP) for SMTP protocol. The Sharepoint server was then able to send mail to any domain.I find this very odd, that when the Sharepoint server was not in the 'allow relay' list, it could send mail to the 'default' domain, but not other domains. Issue description: Message @ace.ca cannot send fromae..: Message cannot send from sharepoint with error not able to relay to this recipient, but it can send message to default domain @can.ca Please check if the option is set properly in the @ace.ca domains recipient policy: ESM->Recipients->Recipient Policies->double-click @ace.ca domains recipient policy->in the E-Mail Addresses tab->Edit @ace.ca address, check whether This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail delivery to this address If this option isnt checked, server wont treat @ace.ca as an accepted domain, also not relay for messages to that domain

Thanks for the reply & suggestion.I followed the suggestion, and the checkbox "This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail delivery to this address"is already checked for all domains listed in the policy (nothing was changed).Any other thought as to why a server would not be able to send email to "ace.ca", but could send mail to "can.ca" users? Is it possible to have a server (AD computer) have permission to one domain and not another?Drew

Can you provide diagnose info in those NDRs which cant be delivered, and please check the exactly error info in the telnet session

I will check the telnet error message and get back to you.Regarding the DNR / email sent via a Workflow from a SharePoint server. This sharepoint server does not receive email so it will not receive a DNR. The Sharepoint Workflow does not have any useful error messages (at least on the GUI, I do not know know where to check for a more detailed log elsewhere).Drew
