I need to search our backup tapes for email from and to a specific user. Unfortunately, the dates I need go past my retention time and therefore I need to restore from backup. I have no idea where to start with this process as I do not want to overwrite our current email. I have been reading about working with recovery storage groups in 2007, but not sure if that is what I need to do or not.My environment: MS Server 2003, Exchange 2007 Version: 08.01.0375.002. Backup is Symantec Backup Exec 12.I did not build the original server, it was already built when I started here. I have the month end tapes which is a full of the server and database. If you can help point me in the correct directio as to be able to search for and find specific emails, I would be eternally grateful.I am not an exchange expert, so step by step instructions and keeping me out of the console would be awesome.
