How can I remove disconnected public folder that appear on outlook and owa?
Hi. There got exchange 2003 SP3 and exchange 2007 SP1. Since there are problem with exchange 2003 server, I can't use the move all replicas function to move public folder to exchange 2007. Aftersome restart on exchange 2003, the system attendant service cannot be start, so that information store and MTA both can't start. The public folder database on exchange 2003 cannot be mount now. All old public folder seems unable to connect. But I still can open new folder. seems it's on exchange 2007.. New folder can also be view in owa. Luckily, I've exported pst file from public folder before the error occur.I mount the pst, create anewpublic folderand copy the public folders to that new folder. Now. I'm able to read previous public folder items. But that disconnected public folder still there.(Since there are lots public folder, this affect the usable). How can I remove that disconnected public folders which still show on owa and outlook?

install Windows 2003 Support Tools on one of your servers. Open adsiedit.msc. Select Configuration-Configuration-Services-Microsoft Exchange-Orgname-Administrative Groups-Exchange Administrative Group. You can find them in there & Delete them, this will remove the entries entirely from your exchange organization & active Directory. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU DO HERE SINCE YOU ARE EDITING ACTIVE DIRECTORY DIRECTLY. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DOUBLE & TRIPLE CHECKED THAT WHAT YOU ARE DELETING IS INDEED WHAT YOU WANT TO BE RID OF & NOT something you not sure of.

Thx . I'll try this later. Since I think there are AD problem with the servers (there are 3 servers run as DC), and the IT officer there installed lots applications on server. Especially on an exchange 2003, so that make it got problem with new installed exchange 2007. Going to move everyhing to 07 and clear all disconnected entries on 03, then I'm going to depromot that server to reduce some maintenance trouble.

I've installed support tools on a 03 server(running exchange 2007) I can't found the public folders items in there. but I do found something public folder objects in other tree something called exchange-objects. It seems matched the public folders. But I'm not sure cuz I can't found my new created folder(lots old folders are there, it repesent items in public folder instanse that show in exchange 2003 system manager. I've found 1 item that I know itsshows on outlook / owa(one ofdisconnected folder) I've changed the name of that item. But it seems not affectedto outlook / owa. But I didn't restart the server. Do I need to restart server after I modified adsiedit?

I think a restart of the information store service may be required.
