How can Implemnt DAG And Disaster Recovery with 2 physical servers

Hi,

Can make DAG implementation and disaster recovery between two CAS in two servers (EXCHANGE 2010 as the following scenario:
AD- IP 192.168.1.1
Exch1 IP: 192.168.1.2 with roles CAS, HUB, Mailbox in building 1
Exch2 IP: 192.168.1.3 with roles CAS, HUB, Mailbox in building 2

with this, can i make replication between to exchange server. once the electricity down in the first building the users can connect directly to the exch2 in the other side. is that work with these tqo physical servers?

Thanks

I don't believe 2010 provides the capability to do an automatic Datacenter failover.  In Exchange 2013 this is something that you can achieve having the same number of Dag nodes in each site and a 3rd site that hosts your File Share Witness.

Here's some more information on Datacenter failovers with Exchange 2010:

you need to follow below steps

1-create two folder for mailbox & log file path in both server if created pleas ignore this

2-Always suggest to tow NIC in both server one for MAPI & one for replication if not you can proceed with 1 NIC in each server, if going with two NIC in each server make sure replication disabled for MAPI network

3-run this command in exchange power shell -

New-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup -Name DAG1 -WitnessserverAD IP  -DatabaseAvailabilityGroupIPAddress 192.168.X.X

4-ADD-DatabaseAvailabilityGroupServer -Identity DAG1 -MailboxServer Exch1

5-Go to exchange management console and select manage DAG there add Exch2

6-Add mailbox data base in both server (Exch1 mailbox database should be add in EXCH2 and exch2 mailbox data base should add in exch1

don't forget you will need to change the DNS entry from server one to server two to the user can access OWA and Autodiscovery

hello Hegaz

actually, you are speaking about two concepts, HA and DR.

your solution is not compliant to both HA and DR, because, you need 3 servers to accomplish your requirement

if you want just HA you can do this with 2 servers in just one building, also if you want DR, you can do with 2 servers in two buildings, taking care of some considerations.

if you need both options, you need 3 servers, two in building one and another in building 2.

here you can read a more extensive explanation of  this point:

also here is another important information

hope this help
