How do I configure the Autodiscover feature?
Hello.
We setup an Exchange 2007 in a 2003 x64 Server. We want to configure the autodiscover feature (we already enabled Outlook Anywhere and RPC/HTTP). What else do we need to do in our DNS or IIS?
Thanks

With the information you provide, it's hard to tell what more you need to in your DNS, other than than making an entry for Autodiscover on your external DNS. There are several options. On common is autodiscover.yourdomain.com (requires that is name is listed in the subject alternative name. Another option is to use an SRV record. (For your internal DNS see the recommendation for a split-brain DNS configuration.) Most likely you will not have to edit your IIS settings directly. The links below should help you get going:Uncovering the New Outlook 2007 AutoDiscover Service (an early source, but still good)http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Uncovering-New-Outlook-2007-Discover-Service.html

Outlook 2007 can now use DNS SRV records to find the location of the Exchange Autodiscover Service http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/09/21/447067.aspx
A new feature is available that enables Outlook 2007 to use DNS Service Location (SRV) records to locate the Exchange Autodiscover servicehttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/940881

Thanks for the answer mr Smith
To be more specific:
1. I do not have a Split DNS. The AD name is hq.company.gr and the additional accepted domain of the Exchange is company.lan
2. I dont have a Trusted Authority Certficate (and cannot afford to buy)
3. The only way that I manage to send and receive Internet mail from the additional accepted domain was to create a new zone inside the AD DNS (company.net) and declare the MX for the accepted domain (mx=mail.company.net). Here is the internal DNS question. Do I have to declare the autodiscover record somewhere?
4. The company that hosts the domain refuses to create an SRV record for the new accepted domain for me. They say that I have to do it myself.
Here is the control panel of the Plesk OS:http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/2289/plesk.png
Thanks in advance

1. You should consider adding mail.company.net to your internal DNS referring to a private IP address.See here about split DNS: Exchange 2007 default SSL replacement -security warninghttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/821bbc7f-24a4-4922-b72c-287b1d41adef
2. Create your own certificate. See my answer here: Invalid Digital Certificatehttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/thread/2f538b85-b634-44fb-9345-33b9915e7606
3. No you don't have to declare an Autodiscover record in your internal DNS for your primary SMTP address. This information is retrieved from your domain controller.
4. Your SRV record should look like this: _autodiscover._tcp.company.net 0 0 443 mail.company.net.
Service Name: _autodiscover* Domain name: company.net.Target Host: mail.company.netTarget port: 443 (requires working certificate!)0 0 = Priority and Weight
* or _autodiscover._tcp.comapny.net. (Don't forget the dot at the end!)

P.S. With a self-signed certificate you could as well add autodiscover.company.net to your SAN certificate and add a CNAME of autodiscover.company.net as an alias to mail.company.net.
