How do I create Multiple Mailboxes with One User Account with Exchange 2007 ??
I feel like I'm overlooking something. How do I create multiple mailboxes with one user account in Exchange 2007??? I can't seem to make a user mailbox without a user account. And if I can not can someone explain why? Dennis

You must have a useraccount for each mailbox in Exchange. If you need multiple mailboxes for one user ,you must create multiple accounts with mailboxes and then give the primary useraccount mailbox access to the other mailboxes. The extra mailboxaccounts can be disabled if you like. Or do you only want a mailbox with mutiple SMTP addresses?

No, I didn't mention SMTP addresses. I am breaking up my 100GB Journal mailbox into smaller mailboxes. I am creating one Storage Group with one database with one mailbox that contains all mail for the company for a specific year. This way I need only need the current year in my daily backupscheme. Besides that a restore will obviously be faster and would need less space to recreate elsewhere.I wanted the mailboxes under oneuser account mainly for keeping things simple. I don't like havinguser accounts thataren't usedto exist, but I guess in this case I do need them. So what you are saying is create user accounts and mailboxes then disable the user account. I was about to do but I figured I'd throw it out in the forum anyway. Thanks
