Hi all, Both forest A and forest B has seperate Exchange servers. )Forest A has Exchange 2003 and Forest B has Exchange 2007) Now, we migrated users from Forest B to Forest A(SID filtering). and then migrated their mailboxes to Forest A. (it could take more than two months) and still two seperate exchange organizations for these two months So, the migrated user from Forest B will still have access to the mailbox? How do we configure their outlook profile(outlook 2003, outlook 2007)? Thank you.

Dear Jane, As I understand from your post, you have migrated user account from forestB to forestA after that you have migrated the mailboxes of that particular user from forestB to forestA. That means user account and mailbox are in same forest only. So why you are confusing for creating your outlook profile? If my understanding about your post is wrong please let me know. The users from Forest B you have migrated to Forest A. Have you introduced an Exchange Server 2007 in Forest A, or are you moving users from the Exchange Server 2003 forest to the Forest that contains Exchange Server 2007? When configuring the Outlook profile, for the Exchange Server name, it will be the server where the mailbox resides on. If the user is in Forest A, then you would use the Exchange Server 2003 name if the mailbox is located there. If the user is in Forest B, then you would use the Exchange 2007 Mailbox server name. Sorry that I did not clarity my questions. We migrated users from Forest B to Forest A. We are going to build Exchange 2010 in Forest A in the future. During the time between migrating resources from Forest B to Forest A and time when we build the new exchange server, do we need to reconfigure the outlook profile for these migrated users since their account and mailboxes are in the different forest? That means User accounts will be in forest A and their mailboxes will be in forestB. If that is the case you have to configure your outlook profile and apart from that you have to configure autodiscover SCP in forest A. For that the below link will help you out. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996849(EXCHG.80).aspx In future if you are implementing exchange server 2010 in forest A and if you are migrating all of the mailboxes to exchange server 2010 then no need to reconfigure outlook profile.
