How to Create Auto Rule

My company is getting migrated(abc) to another company(xyz) and its name also gonging to be change. We have a exchange 2010 server , and each user have 2 email ID

i.e. Robert@abc.com and Robert@xyz.com

my primary email address is robert@xyz.com but still there are  so many people sending email to robert@abc.com. Now @abc.com will be no more after some time.

I want to set  rule on server that if some one sends mail to @abc.com he will get auto reply saying pls send mail to @xyz.com instead of @abc.com as it will be no more exist.

Hi,

there are two possibly ways.

1.- OoO message: This is an out of office message. This can be a problem if your old company does not allow to send the ooo message to outside from your organisation, but you can set up this,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290846

2.-Autoreply message

http://techsupport.psr.edu/AutoReply/AutoReply.htm

you can set up a rule to make this action when you get a mail.

3.-Auto forward rule: If you receive a mail this will be forwarded to your new company mail address.

hope it help.

Csaba

hi, if the 1;3 are down, only the second is left, which is a server reply rule with specific message: http://techsupport.psr.edu/AutoReply/AutoReply.htm

Furthermore,

if you set up the server autoreply rule from outlook, you can forward the mails, if you go to the
Exchange management console: Search to your mailbox--> right click properties--> Mail Flow Settings--> Deliver options (properties)--> Forward to and the most important to tick in to delivery messages BOTH. In this case your old mailbox will receive the mails and the autoreply rule will run, but you will receive the mails to your new mailbox (if needed.) but i guess enough just the autoreply rule

Hope it helps
