How to avoid re-use of same email ID after the disabling the mailbox in Exchange 2007
Hi All,
1. We have user named user1, whose Mailbox is getting disabled today.
2.The user will be in the disabled state for 3 months
3. Mailbox will be deleted as per retention policy period settings of 30 days.
Query:
Once the user mailbox has been disabled (Disconnected) the user email address
user1@domain.com will be again available for any new user
But how to avoid this --I mean how to make
user1@domain.com not available for let say 6 months so that the email address cannot be re-used.
Here the issue is there will be so many issues
1. The emails destined to old user may reach new user with same email address
2. Security compliance issue
So Please advice on this.

Hi,
You could create a dummy user account and add the e-mail address to that account (remove it after 6 months).

Hello,
If you do not want other users to see the specific user in Gal, you can hide it in AD then clear up the Nick Name Cache
NK2 file
on the Outlook client.
Thanks,
Simon
