Hi Guys,We have exchange 2007 server setup at different location, both these exchange 2007 has public folder storage create. At this moment, we are not going to used it. And I notice that from outlook client is keep sending public folder query from location A to location B exchange server. That could generate very much query to our interlink network, so since public folder is not using at this moment.. can i disable it and stop outlook client querying it? how to do that? if the public folder can not be disabled, then how can the traffic flow for public storage to streamline it within exchange location rather than query other location's exchange server? Please advise.. appreciates it..

Are you using Outlook 2003 in your environment? If so, outlook 2003 clients uses free/busy information published in theSCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY system folders of localpublic folder database. If you don't have Outlook 2003 clients then you can remove PF database on second server so first server doesn't send replication query to second one. No, they may face latency while retrieving free/busy info from the remote location but you can remove the PF database by moving system folders to any one of PF DB. However it is also recommended to keep availability information at centralize place unless clients have very low bandwidth at remote location and in that case it is recommended to use local copy. Even I have doubt that you have copy of SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY on local Exchange server at remote location unless admins have added replica on it. I guess i found out the reason why was outlook 2003 user at location A trying to connect to remote location B for the public folder access.. whenever outlook 2003 user at location A try to access OAB, the query will start sending over to remote location B Exchange server, this is becoz OAB is holding in location B exchange sever..Question is what is the best practice that use of OAB with two mailbox exchange in two different location?

hi,mailbox database path has been pointed to correct public folder database.. but on location A oulook 2003 still querying the public folder at remote location.this is weird.. do you have any idea?
