Hello, what is the version of exchange? and when you say unused mailbox mean the mailboxes which hasn't been used since long time right? If it is Exchange 2003 server then you can check in ESM under mailbox store/mailboxes and find the last logon tab.If it is Exchange 2003 Server then you canuse the cmdlet - Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet to obtain information about a mailbox, such as the size of the mailbox, the number of messages it contains, and the last time it was accessedGet-MailboxStatistics -Identity contoso\chrisArun Kumar | MCSE - 2K3 + Messaging | ITIL-F V3

Also you can go to the Message Store, expand it, right click on the mailbox folder and Run CleanUp Agent. This will tell you all mailboxes that aren't connected to an AD account.Mark Morowczynski|MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Glen Scales has a few scripts that can be modified to do this. Here is one of them. It checks unread items and last sent. http://gsexdev.blogspot.com/2004/06/finding-unused-mailboxes-with-cdo-12.html

Hi, You could view the users Last Logon time in ESM | mailbox store | mailboxes as Arun mentioned. This is the most simple way. One thing should be noticed that when the users mailboxes are accessed by system, the antivirus or backup system, the last logon property that the Exchange system manager detects is the system account. In this situation, you need use a script to get a more accurate result. By the way, if you wanna delete these unused mailboxes, please make sure no forwarding address setting in the users AD properties. (aduc | users properties | Exchange general tab | delivery options ). Thanks, Elvis
