How to find which Global Catalog server that Exchange server 2003 contacts for AD lookups
Hi, I am facing strange issue. We have recently migrated some mailboxes to other Exchange servers as part of site consolidation. The new Exchange server is in different AD Domain. But since the mailbox moves, when a mail is sent to a DL, it will also get delivered to a user who is actually not a member of the DL. We checked all of the options like, message forwarding settings and delegations but no settings found which could cause it. We want to check what is the AD server which this Exchange server is trying to choose for AD lookups. Also the Message logging which we can enable for better understating of the root cause. We have all our Exchange servers running in 2003 Enterprise/Standard Editions and AD servers are of Windows server 2003. Thanks JayasimhaJayasimha Puppala

We want to check what is the AD server which this Exchange server is trying to choose for AD lookups. In the ESM, right-click the server and display its propertie page. Click the "Directory Access" tab and, in the "Show" drop-down listbox, select "Global Catalog Servers". >Also the Message logging which we can enable for better understating of the root cause. Message Tracking is enabled on the "General" tab of the server's property page. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hi, DL membership can be replicated between the DC and GC within the organization as long as the distribution groups is universal scope. Thanks Allen
