How to host two companies with one Exchange server 2003
Hi there, i am seeking some step by step assistnce with hosting 2 companies on 1 inhouse exchange server. We are using MS SBS 2003 Premium and company A already exist on the inhouse exchange server while company B is being hosted by web host vendor. Both companies have about 15 users each and i want to host company B inhouse now. I need to know where to start and what will be the implications of having both running off one server if there are any. I dont want to asume anything so i am asking for some professional help. Thanks.

Hello, You can host more than one domain on your Exchange server. The easy way steps are: 1. Add the domain to the Exchange server's SMTP Domains 2. Change DNS zone and an MX record in the authorative server's DNS, wait for propagation (clear your ws cache IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS) 3. Yes, You can host multiple domain in SBS 2003 server. Follow below steps to do that.. Create Reciepient Ploci for new Domain and select SMTP address in New Reciepient Ploicy Tab Run reciepeint policy "Select apply now" to stamp new email address in mailbox Run RUS service Test mail using SMTP test for new SMTP name space. Change MX record of your domain to your exchange server. Please have a look of Petri post below for detail and proceed.
