You didn't mention your version of Exchange. However, note that installing two separate Exchange servers doesn't easily allow you to achieve load balancing and failover for user mailboxes. What you need to do is build a 2 node cluster and the method for that does vary according to the version of Exchange you are running. Also, clustering requires the Enterprise Edition of Windows (and also Exchange) so you will need to build a fresh 2-node cluster and move your users across to it.Suggested reading links (but of course feel free to post back with any other questions)For Exchange 2003:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997507.aspxFor Exchange 2007:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124721.aspxNeil Hobson, Exchange MVP

Thanks for your reply.I am having another taught. Is there any way like, i will have another server(Passive) installed with exchange not connected to the network and regularly restoring the data from the backup taken from my active server. And if anything happens to my active server, i ll unplug my active server from network and plug mypassive server into the network. Will this work and does something as to be done to make it work.

The nearest thing to that is Standby Continuous Replication, which only applies to Exchange 2007. The standby machine is connected to the network and online, with the data being continuously replicated from the source to the target. However, note that this is not a high availability solution - it's a site resilience solution as manual steps are required to activate the standby server.
