How do prevent my phone from deleting emails on the server?  Samsung Galaxy S4 does not provide that option that I can find.

If it is configured with Active Sync, you will not be able to delete the emails from phone only or else you will have to configure the mail account using POP which will give you the option to delete the emails from phone only.
