How to purge contents of Postmaster mailbox
I have reached the 18GB limit on my Exchange 2003 box. I looked in the mailboxes and saw that the Postmaster mailbox is 11GB alone. I need to delete all the e-mails in there. I setup an account to log into the postmaster account in outlook but everytime I try and get all the e-mails, it makes my server crash. How do I purge or clean out the postmaster mailbox without having to login into a "postmaster" account.I tried going into the Exchange System Manager, but the option to purge is greyed out. Can i just delete the postmaster account? Or will that cause problems? TIA

We use Exmerge to archive the contents of this mailbox. Not sure if there is any other better way of doing it.

I would look into setting up a mailbox policy to perm. delete email for that account after 15 days. Then change the postmaster account to you or the admin so that they can manage those emails.

How do I setup a policy to delete the e-mail in that account after 15 days or so??? I tried clearing it using exmerge, but it also makes my server crash everytime. I guess its too much for it to process. 11Gb of e-mail. Can I just delete the postmaster account and point those e-mails to another account or even recreate the postmaster account after I delete and all e-mails are gone???
