How to recover renamed .dbx files
Hi,
My team begun to have troubles with large.dbx files.. 600 to 700Mb these files were stored in a folder called inbox_store.dbx (automatic storage through filter)
I renamed the folder directly in the .dbx storage folder as Storage_backup
After opening outlook express, the inbox_storage.dbx was recreated, containing only new incoming files.
Then I tried to read the mails stored in Storage_backup.. Despite it's size (700Mb), no mails were seen.
I tried the old trick : saved that file elsewhere with a new name (a copy)
gave a new name to it.. recover.dbx
create a recover folder with OE6
clicked that folder t create a recover.dbx file
closed OE
moved the previous 700Mb recover.dbx file to the .dbx storage folder
answered yes to the overwite thing
opened OE again
found the recover folder
EMPTY
I tried the process with 400Mb files and it worked fine.
But here not (and the file was not corrupted)
Any help would be greatky apreciated

Hi George,
First of all, I suggest you refer to this blog about "OE Emails Recovery| A Comprehensive Guide " :
http://arthurkornberg.blogspot.in/2015/06/oe-dbx-emails-recovery.html
Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.
Then the support for OE6 has ended, for a better user experience and techinal support. I suggest you upgrade your Office to the latest version.
Hope it's helpful.
