My initial thought was since it's not part of the domain - just rename the server's network name. When I did that MsExchangeTransport failed to work. It started and stopped right away saying it has nothing to do. I renamed it back to original name and it worked fine. What else is required other than straitforward server namechange? Thanks

Hi, As fas as I know it is not possible to rename any exchange server. Correct way would be to uninstall exchange, rename server and then reinstall the exchange software again. Leif

I checked with couple more resources and it turns out you need to uninstall Exchange Server software, rename the server, install Exchange again.
