How to see client connections to Exchange?
Hi evveryone,
I'm getting sporadic complaints that peoples Outlook clients are losing their connections to our Exchange enviroment. Are there any logs on Exchange that I can reference that will show when connections are established and or lost to clients computers? I'm
aware there are statistics counters for connections per second, etc as well as SMTP (send/receive) type logs but I need more specific information regarding the physical Exchange connection to their Outlook...
Thanks!

Yes, and all that seems to tell me is the time and date a specific person logs on generally speaking. I need more of a diagnostic of the actual connection that occurs between Exchange and Outlook to diagnose these supposed dropped connections...I'm
not sure such a thing exists though.

Is it Outlook Anywhere connections or just Outllook?
If Outlook Anywhere then use RPCping
For RPC access (Outlook)
If using HLB for CAS array ...you may have logging options on HLB.
The counters list in the link below may provided some info. The link does not the dropped connections, check out the counter to see if you have dropped connections or something related.

On one of the client machines that's having the problem, have them go to the Notifcations (lower RH corner of the screen), click the up arrow to expand the notifications, hold down the CTRL key and right click on the Outlook Icon, and select "Connection
Status" from the list.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

Also you can try to raise diganostic logging level for rpc client access.
