How to troubleshoot - An object in another user's folder cannot be deleted via OWA but can be done in Outlook?
Hi everyone, I am working on a very strange case, which is recreated from another one. The recreated case: There is a meeting object in a user's (boss, in the orginal case) Calendar folder, which I have the Editor permission. - Through Outlook, I can delete this object. - Through OWA, I cannot delete this object - After opening the meeting and clicking the Delete button, the meeting window will be closed without changing anything. - Through OWA, I can modify the same object - After opening the meeting and changing the start/end time, the meeting will be moved to the new timeslot. The original case: A delegate created a meeting for her boss. Later she needed to cancel the meeting but failed - got an error saying she did not have enough permission. For her, she couldn't delete that meeting either though Outlook or OWA. I had to give her Full Access permission on the mailbox of her boss so that the questioned meeting could be deleted via Outlook. For the recreated case, the delegate still cannot delete the object, which was created for test, either via OWA or Outlook. Has anyone experienced a similar issue like that? Where can I check the "real" permission of this object (or where do I start to troubleshoot this case)?. We are using Exchange 2007. The Mailbox server is on SP2 RU4 and CAS server is on SP3 RU1. Thanks a lot in advance, Eric

Hi, Before we start to toubleshoot the issue, I recommend to keep the Exchange Servers in the same version, please try to update all you Exchange Servers to SP3 with Rollup1. Regards, Xiu
