How to use outlook.com from inside Outlook (2007)

I thought I would be able to use outlook.com as the vehicle that sends and receives using my Outlook program. Did I misunderstand something? I really want to operate out of the outlook environment I have been so used to for 15 years.

Hi Eric,

As Karl posted, we can use Outlook Hotmail Connector to configure the Outlook.com account in Outlook 2007. More detailed steps can be found in this article:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Use-an-Outlookcom-account-in-Outlook-a8ad4824-c286-43bb-8103-12a73cf2c954?CorrelationId=8133754d-d2de-4b97-b5ab-24041fbded09&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

  • Exit Outlook.

  • Download the Outlook Hotmail Connector.

  • When prompted to open or save the file, click Open.

  • When prompted to run the software, click Run.

Note   You may see a security prompt, depending on which operating system or Web browser you use. If you see such a dialog box, you must click the option to continue with the installation.

  • Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the installation.

  • The next time you start Outlook, you are prompted to configure the Outlook Connector. Enter the following information:

    • Your email address

    • Your password

    • Your name as you want it to appear in the receiver's Inbox

  • Click OK.

I hope it's helpful.

Hi

As per the information and details provided by you, to configure Outlook.com account in Outlook 2007, please follow these steps: -

  1. Install the Outlook Hotmail Connector, from the Microsoft Website:
  2. Manually configure your @Outlook.com account by following these steps: -
    • In Outlook, click the Outlook Connector menu, and then click Add a New Account.
    • Enter your name, email address, and password, and then click OK.

Note: -

The Outlook Connector is limited to email, calendar and contacts. Tasks are not supported by the Connector.

When you have Two-Step Authentication enabled for your Microsoft Account, you will need to use a special App Password instead of your regular password in Outlook.

I hope this information will be helpful for you.

Thanks and regards
