Howto configure Recipient of SharedMailbox-Quotamessage (Exchange 2007)
Problem:I want the Quotamessage of a Shared-Mailbox to be sent to one or more other Users. Here I found an interresting Microsoft-Article:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232173(EXCHG.80).aspxQuota messages for mailboxes are sent to mailbox owners. If a mailbox is owned by a security group (that is, if it is a shared mailbox), quota messages are sent to the security group. So it should work, but how can i change the mailbox-owner to a securitygroup?regardsNorman

Hi Norman, It supposed to be manager field in Organization tab. Add a security group as a manager and check. Recipient Properties > Organization Tab http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996365(EXCHG.80).aspx Make sure that user type is Shared Mailbox otherwise you need to convert it. Hi Amit, unfortunably i cannot choose a (mail enabled) security group as a manager. Should this be possible? In the "Select Recipient User or Contact dialog box" the only Recipienttype i got is "User Mailbox"Choosing an Usermailbox as manager will not send him the quota messages. The Mailboxtype is "shared".Regards Norman

Hi, I have tested on the lab, that didn't work. In fact, the mailbox's owner is only one that is mailbox itself. Thus, the best practice is create the transport rule on the server side to redirect or cc the warning email to the member of the security group. Thanks Allen

Hi,i created a transport rule in the mailbox, matching on subject. but it did not work with the quota-message.when i send a message from an other mailbox with the same subject the transportrule is matching.a transportrule, checking sender, also did not work.regardsnorman
