Hub Server in different site?
So talking to a co-worker, he is under the impression that we can't put a Hub server in a different site if it's a different subnet. Any truth to this? I don't see how M$ would allow you to have different sites, but all of them would have to use the same subnet.

not true. Exchange 2007 uses sites for routing. A site can, and in a lot of cases will have a different subnet. Exchange has no problems here as long as there is routing between the sites. Shaun

Maybe the real situatio is, that you cant hace a mailbox or unified messaging with a hub transport in diferent Site, mailbox and unified messaging needs the Hub at the same site to route messages.CapecolMCSA - MCTS Exchange Server 2007

There are three crucial exchange roles which should be deployed 'in threes' if supporting local users. The Mailbox, Client Access and Hub roles. As long as these three roles exist, you can commission in multiple sites and routing will be dealt with by the Hub. It is true that you cannot commission a mailbox server in asite without a hub, because the hub server is responsible for ALL mail routing, even routing from recipients in the same mailbox database.
