IIS 7.0 Change password feature exchange 2007
Hi, I'm new here, nice to meet you!
I Don't know if this is the right forum but I'll give it a try
Im deploying a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 with sp1 on a windows 2008 enterprise edition
Everything works fine, I published it trough my ISA server 2006 and all the stuff
The problem is this: When users access mail trough OWA, the change password feature isn't available. I read tons of articles but they all apply only to IIS 6.0, and I can't find anything that explains how to enable this feature in IIS 7.0. Can you please help me? The procedure isn't the same as in IIS 6.0, and Im getting nuts trying to activate this feature
Documentacion says that you have to create a virtual directory named ISSADMPWD and to modify the registry, but it says that it applies only to exchange 2003-2000 and IIS 6.0 & 5.0
I tried anyways but It did not work
Thanks for all the help received!

First, when you say that the feature is not available, do you mean that it is not visible in OWA? (meaning the button is not visible Change Password choice is not one of the menu choices under Options). You need to enable it for OWA by using the Set-OwaVirtualDirectory cmdlet, for example:
Set-OwaVirtualDirectory VirtualDirectoryName -ChangePasswordEnabled: $True
If the feature is not enabled in IIS, then you need to follow the necessary to create the IISAdmPwd virtual directory on your Default Web Site. Take a look at this blog posting and see if it helps out.

If not, please post back and I'll do some further research on one of my W2K8 servers.

Hi,
Since you have ISA installed and OWA published via ISA 2006, I think you should implement change password feature with ISA.
The change password feature is supported when clients input credentials using forms-based authentication, and ISA Server validates credentials using Windows (Active Directory) authentication or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) authentication.
In the property pages of the Web listener you create for use in the rule that will publish Outlook Web Access, configure the option for users to change their password. Additionally, configure an expiry countdown warning.
Detail information share with you:

Hi, I have the same problem, but I don't have a Exchange 2003 CD to get the required folder from? What can I do? I have server 2008 and exchange 2007 sp1new install, new domain, and the change password feature doesn't work, the button is there, I can click it, I get the screen to type in the old password, and new and confirm, when I click save it says I didn't meet the comlexity requirements. I've tried passwords that have 4 uppercase, 4 lowercase, 4 special and 4 numbers and it still gives me that error. My domain requirements are only 7 characters and complexity turned on.Can you help me!!!??? I've read dozens of articles, but without Exchange 2003 I can't find the folder to finish the procedure.Thank you in advance.
