IMF NOT UPDATING Exchange Server 2003
I Noticed a few months back that IMF was not updating properly on exchange server 2003...have been manually downloading and intalling the updates....finally had time to try and research this and can't find any answers except that the following node is missing from exchange manager when i look...intelligent message filtering seems to be working on the server.and i have intelligent message filtering tabs on all other areas; registry entry is present as required to enable...i see in the tracking area of exchange many messages being rejected by IMF........any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated: When IMF is installed a new tab is added to the System Manager the Intelligent Message filter tab which can be found by taking Properties of Message Delivery under Global Settings (see figure 3). In addition a new Intelligent Message Filtering node is added under Protocols > SMTP, see Figure 1 and 2 (this is where you enable IMF). Hi Geekldy, IMF updates are only supported on Exchange 2003 Servers with SP2 where IMF is enabled. Have you installed SP2? In Exchange 2003 SP2, IMF can be enabled at SMTP virtual server | General tab | Advanced | Edit | Apply Intelligent Message Filter. Please note: For the updates to take effect, IMF updates installer will restart IISADMIN, so the best time to apply updates will be the time when the least amount of mail traffic is expected (e.g. during the night). I suggest reading the following article for more information: Intelligent Message Filter Updates http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2005/12/14/416070.aspx Thanks, Elvis
