I can't Access server 2003 by its name?
Hi all, I have tried for several times to find a solution to my problem, My outlook 2007 gives me an error message "Microsoft Exchanger is Unavailable" I also went to check if I can connect to my server using the OWA I could not service unavailable
error message, then I tried to access company web still not luck. I went to the server it self and tried to access the my emails using OWA still not luck I then determined that the problem is not on exchange but the server name because when I used remote
connection i could not get through, but I could map drives.
So the problem is with the name because when i tried to access OWA services using the IPAddress I managed to connect well without problems. So my server respond well to requests made using IP but not server name.
What am I missing or what did I do wrong? because at first I could access my emails and company web without any problem. And i also get autodiscover certificate msg how do get rid of this message from my outlook?

I would do a DNS lookup for your server name and see what comes back. Sounds like a DNS problem to me.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:EMA 2K7,EDA Win 7,ES,SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Hi,
Try to flush the DNS cache and see if the issue persists:
1. Run cmd, type:
ipconfig /flushDNS
2. Then run nslookup to check if you can resolve the name of the exchange server:
nslookup FqdnOfServer
