I need to exclude the Calendar from the Mailbox Quota
We need to 'encourage' our users to file client emails into the firm's external (i.e. non exchange) document management software, and we do this by imposing strict mailbox quotas. The issue we now have is that some user's calendars have grown so large that it is impacting their work flow. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of a 3<sup>rd</sup> party product to facilitate this need. We are 100% Exchange 2010 SP1 RU 3v3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM. Our clients are all Outlook 2007 SP2.

Why not trim expired calendar entries? You could use the "Managed Default Folders" to setup a retention period. Also you could setup Archiving in Outlook and export the calendar data to a PST thereby trimming the Calendar and allowing users to keep their old Appointments.David Jenkins

The business workflow requires us to keep all past calendar entries, and PSTs have been prohibited for a number of reasons. I could try making a new case for PSTs if we could restrict their use to exclusively calendar items, but I have not figured out how to do that either.

Would it be acceptable to setup another Exchange DB and setup a rule to Archive the data?David Jenkins

I certainly can create new databases, but how would the Outlook 2007 user integrate that Archive DB into their 'daily view'.

Fantastic. More or less can also be achieved in Exchange 2007 by giving users additonal mailbox and have them move their email to their secondary mailbox.
