Importing WAB file into Outlook Mail Address book

Hello!

I recently bought a new desktop PC, and did a clean install of Windows 8, followed by a clean install of Office 2013.

I had previously been running Windows XP Pro; with Outlook Express as my email program, and Word 2003 as my word processor.

I have spent a couple of days (literally) trying to import my Outlook Express Address Book (WAB) into Outlook 2013s mail Address book; without success.

I have tried converting the WAB file to a PST file, and importing that into Outlook.  I have tried converting the WAB file to a CSV file, and importing that into Outlook.  Both of these methods worked like a charm, and imported the WAB file into Outlooks People Contacts.  I have done this so many time Im getting blue in the face.

The problem is that each of these methods has imported the WAB address book into Outlook's People Contacts (where it is mostly useless to me), but not into the Outlook Mail Address Book, which is where it needs it to be.

How do I get the People Contacts into the Mail Address Book where I can use them when composing mail messages?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Switch to People Contact, right click on the folder which includes your contacts in the Navigate Panel. Then select Properties... > Outlook Address Book tab > check the box before "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" option.
