Importing backup PST file to Outlook 2007 calendar vs Exchange calendar
I'm running Outlook 2007 on Win7 (64bit) pc. I upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007. We also have MS Exchange running so that we can share calendars with all the other users in the office. When I imported my backup pst file it put all of my saved calendar information on the exchange calendar and not on my personal/private calendar on my computer. I had to quickly go through a year's worth of calendar entries and remove or move them from the exchange calendar to my calendar because there were private entries that no one else should see. Also, in the To-Do Bar it shows my upcoming appointments and reminders on the Exchange calendar and not those on my personal calendar. i cannot find any setting to tell Outlook to use/look at my personal calendar instead of the exchange calendar...or i dont know what settings I should be using. I also used the beta version of Outlook 2010 for a few months and the same thing happened when I imported the exported pst file. Was there something I was supposed to do to the exported/imported file or what? I have not been able to find anything by doing searches in the help or online. Another person and me are the only ones using this version of Outlook and the other person did not experience this issue, but I do not know what he may have done differently. How can I prevent this from happening in the future when others are upgraded from 2003 to 2007 or 2010? Thanks in advance.

When you import your .pst you should not choose your whole exchange mailbox as import target. export only your second cal in a .pst file. then import only this .pst file in your new created personal cal. then import the rest from the other .pst step by step.
