Why are you installing Exchange 2007 SP2? SP3 is the current version.
If you only have a single domain then you can just run setup.exe and the GUI will prep the domain for you. You only need to run prep separately if you have multiple domains in the forest.

Help me anybody please,
I am trying to install Exchange 2007 SP1 in a Server 2008 x64 member server but my domain controller/AD is Server 2008 x86. When I run the Exchange 2007SP1 - setup in Server 2008 x64 it says no Active Directory found.
Hope I need to the schema, forest and domain extensions in DC which is 32BIT version. Therefore, I need to download Exchange 2007 32BIT version to do from Server 2008 32BIT domain controller. Am I correct?

As I wrote above, unless you have multiple domains, you do not have to run prep separately. Just run setup.exe and let the GUI do everything for you.
I would also suggest that you stop using Exchange 2007 SP1, as that is very old. Download Exchange 2007 SP3 from Microsoft and use that instead. Ensure that the server is joined to the domain and you have installed all pre-requisites.

Hi Simon,
I could not download the EXCHANGE 2007 SP2 or SP3. I can download the SP2 or SP3 only to do the upgradation later.
I have now Exchange 2007_SP1_x64.iso file and trying to install in the server 2008 x64 which is already added to domain and I logged into the server using domain Administrator a/c. I suspected the firewall which is blocking to connect the AD directory services.
Still - no luck for me and see the error ;

The service packs are the complete installation. You can install a fresh installation of Exchange from Exchange 2007 SP3. The service pack installation basically reinstalls Exchange, so you are wasting your time installing Exchange 2007 SP1 and then upgrading
it.
The errors means the server cannot find the domain. Primary reason for that is the DNS or network configuration isn't correct. DNS should be using the domain controller ONLY. The firewall shouldn't be an issue, as Windows allows domain traffic through. However
if you have disabled the Windows Firewall service then that will cause problems. It should be enabled at all times.

Hi Karan,
For this issue, I suggest you follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
1.
Confirm your DNS is designed/operating properly.
2.
Make sure the DC is set as a GC in AD Sites and Services.
3.
Run DCdiag and Netdiag for a check.
Here are some related documents about install Exchange 2007 SP1, hope can give you some help:

Since Exchange 2007 SP3 has been published, you can install Exchange 2007 SP3 (instead of Exchange 2007 SP1).

Hi everybody,
First, I added to domain and logged into the administrator a/c. I confirmed that my primary DNS is domain controller DNS. I did the nslookup and confirmed that it is doing all resolution from AD integrated DNS server which is running on my domain controller.
I enabled all firewall as per the request of Simon. Then I downloaded Exchange Server 2007 SP3 x64 and installed, but still I get the same error ,
I did ServerManagerCmd -i RSAT-ADDS, and I can see the AD Users & Computers, AD Site & Services, AD domain &
Trust consoles. It's all working fine.
In addition to that I installed all pre-requests: IIS7, PowerShell, MS Installer 3.5, etc. But when I try to install, I got the following ERROR log:

You need to install some of the sub component of IIS as its missing.
[28/04/2011 9:31:14 PM] [1] [ERROR] Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Could not find Active Directory site to which this server belongs.
What is the domain functional level you have?
[28/04/2011 9:31:14 PM] [1] [ERROR] This computer does not belong to a valid Active Directory site. Check the site and subnet definitions.
How many sites do you have? Check the DNS and Subnet.
[28/04/2011 9:31:14 PM] [1] [ERROR] Cannot find at least one global catalog server running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or later in the local Active Directory site.
As per this error make sure that you have on GC running 2003 SP1

Hi ,
I have only 2 servers, only ONE SITE. one server is DC (32BIT) and another one is member server (64BIT) where I need to install EX2007SP3. All FSMO roles and GC are in the domain controller.
I did all prereuest for the Exchange installation as explained in the following link
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354(EXCHG.80).aspx
I did DCdiag in my domain controller and I got some errors: Is it causing the problem?

How many dc's do you have on the site?
Post the ExchangeSetup Log's last information with the error.
Do you see any event generated, it shouldn't be a problem installing it. Gulab | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2010 | MCTS-MCITP Messaging: 2007 | MCC 2011 | Skype: Gulab.Mallah

It is all in the same site.
I fixed all the issues - one time ago some body has installed the exchange for the organization and shutdown the Exchange Server without properly removing the server. It has caused the problem to install in second server.
I have fixed all, thanks for your help everybody.
