Installation of Exchange 2007 error
I get a message "The image G:\ is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine" . I did have Server 2003 installed on a desktop that was running a Athlon MP processor w/512 ram.I knew there would be a problem. I figured Exchange saw this as a laptop and would not install. I moved the drives over to a desktop with an Athlon 64bit 3k proc w/2gb ram (more suitable). I re-registered after the hardware switch and yet the error returns. Any idea what may be the cause? I am guessing that there is a registry entry that needs to be repaired.

You need to install Windows 2003 SP1 64 bit edition on your laptop to install Exchange 2007 Exchange 2007 is a 64 bit application You can however download a 32 bit version only for testing purpouses http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6BE38633-7248-4532-929B-76E9C677E802&displaylang=en Deli
