Installed Microsoft Exchange on Wrong Drive
Last week our migration from Server 2000 to Exchange Server 2003 (New Dell Poweredge 1800 server qty 3 - 73 GB SCSI drives running RAID 5) was tough but we got through it.
73GB,U320,SCSI,1IN 10K;PE1850
341-1110
1
Add-in SCSI RAID 5, with SCSI
We inadvertently installed our Exchange Server components to the C drive (20GB) vs the D drive (116GB). It has already used 10GB of disk space on the C drive. I need to move it to the d drive and need to know what components to move. I also need to know if this will work? Will there be components that are left that will still take up too much space on the C Drive. I have the document "Moving Data Folders for Windows Small Business" http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sbs/2003/maintain/movedata.mspx
and I want to know if this is the correct way to move the file locations, or because we have not created each users connection to their mailbox is there another way?
At this point I have added the exchange to each user in the active directory, but have only added exchange to one workstation.
Any ideas?
I also need to figure out how to get exchange to work as if it were one with our current .pst files.
Thanks
Debra D

Are you using the version of Exchange that came with Small Business Server (SBS), or are you running the standalone version of Exchange Server on a standalone Windows Server? If you are using SBS, then the link you provided will give you the instructions you need for moving your database and transaction log files to alternate locations. If you are not using SBS, then you can use the instructions at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/guides/E2k3AdminGuide/eda787f1-f950-4b80-90cf-f56894c1ca8c.mspxand http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/guides/E2k3AdminGuide/2bc0e2fc-0063-4bd0-a8c0-1edc526bb0e0.mspxto move the database and log files.
Hope this helps.

Want to move the "documents and settings" on theC:\ drive, needto know whatfilescan move safely to the D:\ driveand what get affected by the move (ex: "Temporary Internet Files"filesneed to be redirected to wherethe new location of files are to be stored).Want to leave what has to be there because of security andmove any files that have a tendancy to grow or limit their size.
Looked for documentation on moving "documents and settings" or foldersto the D:\ and came up with links to the same documents used to move the exchange files. Help.
Thanks,
