Installing 2nd Exchange 2007 Server in an Organization
How do I install a second Exchange 2007 Server into an existing 2007 Organization. I just completed the install on one server and need to get the 2nd installed. I don't know if I am missing some simple or if it is the installation files I have. When I run the installation on the second server it says nothing about adding it to an existing install. Thanks

Perhaps you can clarify exactly what you are trying to do here? Add another server with similar roles to the existing one, add new server with new role or what? In either case though, all you do is run setup, select the roles you wish to install & install Exchange, it automatically picks up the Exchange Organization & Sites & Services topology from Active Directory and Installs the Server accordingly.

I have the same problem. Should Exchange 2007 not pickup the existing Org instead it asks me for a new org name i want to create? Maybe I am missing something silly here. Any comments would be apreciated.

Guys, Things to check here are: 1. Are there DC's & GC's in the Sites? 2. Is the AD Replication Topology Healthy, as in are ALL DCs & GCs able to replicate Successfully 3. use dcdiag, repadmin & event viewer to verify the health of your topology 4. run exchange setup with the /dcomaincontroller switch to force it to look at the primary Domain Controller. I would assume that this is happening because the org created in the first site have not replicated to the remote site & exchange requires that it accesses a DC & GC in the local site where it is installed to function.

I would assume that this is happening because the org created in the first site have not replicated to the remote site & exchange requires that it accesses a DC & GC in the local site where it is installed to function. As Johan points out, this could be down to simple Inter Site replication - by default the replication time in minutes between AD Sites is 120 minutes I believe. This can be lowered to 15. If the original poster is simply installing a second Exchange 2007 server in the same site - please can you post what the installer is saying? The installer won't show you your Exchange Org and ask you to select it - you simply just add a new server and it does its stuff.
