Installing Exchange 2007 on second site
Just wondering if someone could help me with this:
We have two Sites NY and Chicago,
Site 1 - NY - Exchange 2007, Server 2008, AD
Site 2 - Chicago - Exchange 2003, Server 2008, AD
Were wanting to upgrade Site 2 to Exchange 2007 , and i was wondering how i would go about doing this?
Do I just run the Exchange 2007 Setup.exe and on site 2 and it will know what settings to install based of Site 1, and after it's done installing move all the mailboxes
from the old Exchange 2003 over to the new Exchange 2007 box? and once that's completed how would i remove the old exchange 2003 server?
Thanks

Not knowing enough about your environment and business reqs such HA. Soley based off on your question about upgrading site 2 to 2007.
Install another Exchange 2007 server in site 2. Do as you need , multiple roles or seperate role
start moving mailboxes after ensuring your new 2007 server is functioning.
and once that's completed how would i remove the old exchange 2003 server?

Thanks, before running the exchange 2007 setup , would i run "Setup /PrepareDomain" or does the installer take care of that by default?

Hi Frank,
I recommand you run "Setup /PrepareDomain" before installing exchange 2007.
But if you forget it or any reason didn't run it you can still go on installing exchange 2007 because it will run it by itself.

Its a best practice to run the command.
Post the update if you get any error.
