Hi.Thank you all in advance.I am installing MS Exchange 2007 Server and Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007 for the first time. I have a dedicated server which is hosted at a hosting company. My dedicated server is a MS Windows 2008 Standard. I am trying to determine which product I should install first, Exchange or Sharepoint Server? What I am trying to do ultimatley is set up a sharepoint site and exchange for a company. I would like for you to keep in my mind that I am a newbie to the products above. I tried installing Exchange on another test machine and it was crazy so I never got it running; however, I was ableto get Sharepoint running. If you any of you know where I can get some clear instructions on how to install Exchange then that would be grateful. Thank you,Ajay

Yes Exchange needs lots of memory as well as other resources so it would be better if you could keep one dedicated machine just for Exchange. and have MOSS installed on separate box. so it will also make administration more easy and full contol over the setup. Remember that in order to install exchange 2007 you need to plan and prepare your AD thoroughly there are few commands which you may need to run on the server in order to introduce exchange 2007 in your AD. Hi VinodThank you for your feedback, it was greatly appreciated. I understand that Microsoft does not reccomend that Sharepoint Server and Exchange Server NOT be installed on the same box. I am trying to build extremely small solutions for small businesses that have at most 10 employees. I want to be able to build them small apps within their Sharepoint site. Originally, I was going to use WSS 3.0 but then when I realized I need to forms and need private sites so I had to move to Sharepoint Server. I want to offer my clients two services: Exchange and Sharepoint. Because of the type of clients I want are small I figured that I could have both programs on the same machine.Microsot offers a online productivity suite and I was just trying to do something smaller by offering Exchange and Sharepoint. Rock, do you have any thoughts on this?I have one Windows 2008 Stanard Dedicated Server and thats all I can afford at this time as a small start-up and that is another reason I was trying to get Exchange and Sharepoint on the same machine.I would be delighted to hear your thoughts on this.Thank You,Ajay
