Installing WebDAV on Exchange 2007 Mailbox role.

Environment:

All Servers are 2008 x64 with Exchange 2007 SP3

2 CAS/HUB Transport

2 Mailbox in CCR cluster

For a third party Unified Messaging project, I am being asked to install WebDAV on the 2 mailbox servers in the CCR cluster. Currently, everything is working fine and has been for a couple of years. However, I am concerned with what impact installing this software may have and would like input from the forum.

The third party software is Univerge UM8700 Unified Messaging for Microsoft Exchange.

I don't have a choice in this implementation unless someone thinks there is a significant risk to our current messaging system operation.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Skip

Hi,

Can you verify with the third-party that they actually require WebDAV to be enabled on an Exchange 2007 server? The utilisation of WebDAV to me seems odd, as this is a legacy way of interacting with an Exchange 2000-2003 environment. Exchange 2007 or laters API's are based on a SOAP/XML interface called Exchange Web Services.
