Installing new Exchange 2003 on Windows server 2003 Std - DNS name not determined
While I'm busy trying to install a new instalation of Exchange 2003 on my Windows Server 2003 Std ed DC. I recieve the message: Setup is unable to determine the DNS name of this computer. See Microsoft Knowledge Base article 817543 at http://support.microsoft.com for information about how to correct this problem, and then run Setup again. I follow the seteps in KB doc 817543 but it gives me this message: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>nltest /sc_verify:DomainName I_NetLogonControl failed: Status = 1355 0x54b ERROR_NO_SUCH_DOMAIN Please can anyone piont me in the corret path to fix this error. Hi, I suggest that you attempt the following method to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Open %windir%\system32\drivers\etc folder 2. Open the hosts file by using notepad 3. If there are any incorrect entries, please remove them and save the hosts file 4. Run ipconfig /flushdns to flush dns After that, please ping the DC by using IP, Netbios and FQDN and let me know the result. Mike
