Hi,

Add the sending address to the Outlook safe senders list - can be done using group policy

Add the IP address of the line of business application to the Exchange trusted SMTP list

Set-TransportConfig -InternalSMTPServers 192.168.0.0/24

Obviously changing the network range(s) to suit. This range should be all the IP addresses that you trust - so not just the Exchange servers in the DMZ (as the docs say).

Optionally, get the LOB app to do authenticated email. Authenticated email is never checked for spam. Or make a dedicated receive connector that has the Bypass Spam Filtering permission set on it.

Internal messages are those that are generated by an authenticated mailbox.

Simply sending SMTP messages from an internal server are not considered internal, they are external to Exchange.

Your application would need to either send via MAPI, IMAP mailbox connection, or authenticate via SMTP using a valid mailbox credential and email address.
