Internal emails bouncing
Good morning everyone...
We are using Exchange 2007. I had a user with a corrupt mailbox, and was forced to delete the mailbox. I created a new mailbox in Exchange (with the same settings as the old one), and now the user is unable to recieve mail from anyone internally. External emails are delivered fine.
The error message recieved is:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
Melissa O. WhiteThe recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please check the e-mail address and try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator.

From doing my own research, it appears I need to add a new custom email address of the type "X500"? Can someone tell me if this is the correct solution, and if so, how do I go about doing that? I havent been able to find instructions on doing that.
Thanks!
Melissa White
I apologize for changing the email addresses above, however, I get plenty of spam as it is!

Reverify the email address on the account to ensure no typo's. Is this an Exchange 2007 Environment with an edge server? Ensure the new account and address has been pushed to the Edge server.
EdgeSync Cmdlets:

I've verified the email address on the account does not have any typo's in it.. This is an Exchange 2007 enviornment, but it's a one-server set up (no Edge server)...

Upon further reading I see your issue is with internal messages. In this case the problem most likely is on your clients in the Nickname file. This is the file that creates a chached entryof recently 'sent to' users. Delete the .N2K file on the in the Application Data directory of the client, and a new one will be generated automatically. When you select your name from the GAL it should work fine.
All clients with the problem will need the .N2k file deleted. Yep, this isn't fun but it has to be done.

Hello Melissa,
You issue can be caused by your account's "LegacyExchangeDN" is missing or incorrect. Please check it with the article below. You can use adsiedit to check or modify it.
