Invalid Characters in receipent address
I'm at a complete lost with this one, we are running Exchange server 2007 and have a problem receiving email alerts from our epson projectors.
The email address that epson uses is:
root@[ipaddress of projector]
We've contacted epson to see if there is a way to customize the from address and it doesn't appear that we can.
Is there any way in exchange to make an exception, exchange rejects these emails with a 501 5.1.7 invalid address message.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply, I tried making the changes in the kb article that you provided however it still doesn't work.
I believe the problem is the "[" in the address if I telnet to my server and user from mail:root@ip address without the "[" "]" sender is ok with the "[" "]" I get 501 5.1.7 invalid address

Exchange 2007 does not support domain (aka address) literals:

Thank you!
I was searching for days trying to find out if this was supported or not, but never came across that article.
