Invisible folder under deleted items - Outlook 2007
Hello, I have a user who imported a local mail folder to his server mailbox and then changed his mind and deleted it once he realized that this exceeded his mailbox quota. The mailbox did however not become any smaller despite doing "Empty Deleted Items Folder" and we did discover from choosing General->Folder Size from the "Deleted Items Properties" that the Deleted mailbox still occupied the same space under "Server Data Tab".This tab even lists the deleted folder although it cannot be seen under Deleted Items at all so what has happened? How are you supposed to reclaim this space when "Empty Deleted Items Folder" does not seem to do the trick? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Please verify if you have use Shift with delete key to delete mail folder. Please check to verify if you can find these deleted mail from Revocer Deleted Items. Also please try to use Mailbox Cleanup. Besides,I recommend you to create pst file to sotre messages locally. Create a new data file and move or copy items to it http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP030823561033.aspx Reduce the size of Outlook data files http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101179451033.aspx Regards, Xiu

I did attempt OWA and somehow the deleted folder was visible so I could permanently delete it and reclaim all space. The issue is now solved although although it is still unclear why the folder was not visible from Outlook client in the first place.
